Happy September friends! We don't know about you, but for us here at the Velvet Nook and Roast, September is the kickoff to fall! What better way to start our fall than talking about new books that are going to be released during the season? We've got fantasy, romance, horror, and everything in-between to talk about! 

It is impossible to talk about every single book that is releasing during this 2026 season, however we are going to be highlighting multiple books across different genres during this week's post! 

There are so many different books to talk about, so let's go ahead and jump right in. Light a candle, grab a blanket, and get ready for some amazing book talk!

There are so many Romance releases hitting shelves this fall. As much as we wish we could, it is really difficult to talk about every single book that is being released this season. Here is a highlight of xxxx romance books that you could add to your fall TBR! 

  • Midnight Curfew by Penelope Douglas, Releases September 1, 2026

Midnight Curfew is a standalone romance novel scheduled for release on the first day of September. It takes place during summer, storm season in southern Florida. Two sworn rivals from opposing backgrounds are fighting a forbidden attraction to each other during a coastal storm lockdown.

  • Alma Vampires by Elena Armas, Releases November 17, 2026

Alma Vampires is a paranormal romance novel, and will be the first book in The Icarus University series. An unsuspecting heiress with a target on her back must enlist the protection of a vampire whose wealth and secrets rival her own.
